Problems with external USB drives and Time Machine![]() If you're having problems with Time Machine on Leopard, such as any of the following:
then you might just want to change the USB cable. cb2bib![]() I've thrown together an Apple OSX installer for the cb2Bib academic reference manager from molspaces. The installer simply puts the application in the /Applications directory, and creates a directory "cb2bib" in your Documents folder for text files needed by the program. This program is completely without guarantee of any kind whatsoever, so if it destroys your computer or eats your dinner, I take no responsibility whatsoever. That said, it works for me, and please send any feedback to me at info at heatherengineering dot com. In particular, I'd like to know if the paths set to the abbreviations.txt and other files are correct. Links 1.1 I've sent the code for Links 1.1 off to Dirk for checking, so if all goes well you should soon see hierarchical categories in Links. There are a few issues to be sorted out first though, so may not be an immediate release. Then I can focus on other things in the following order:1) Archive - user access issues to be sorted out 2) Things to do - needs a general overhaul and update 3) Ewiki - user access issues, security check and update 4) Rating - Tom is working on this, so I won't be doing much - just checking for bugs for him 5) Something new. Several rather revolutionary new ideas are on the way for a company a friend and I are setting up here in Tokyo. Watch this space! Gnode seems a little difficult conceptually - mainly how to make it useful for other plugins. Once I have a few others going, I'll come back to it. Links and Glinks There was a bounty issued for subcategories in the Links plugin, and the core developers are talking about setting the main plugins free to encourage more participation.Taking this opportunity, I'm adding the subcategories from Glinks into Links, and then I'm going to kill off Glinks - one less thing to maintain, now that I have so much else going on, and it will mean I can spend more time on the other plugins without that nagging feeling of guilt at the back of my mind that I should be doing something... Archive Plugin![]() I've just written an "Archive" plugin for someone. It's quite simple, but very powerful. The quickest way to understand, is to look at it here. If you want to try it out, register and have a bash. (That is, logged in users are able to edit items). |
